The name Feeling for Snow is taken from the book Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Høeg of Denmark, first published in 1992 under the title Frøken Smillas Fornemmelse for Sne. Pop and jazz inspired the work was written for Ensemble Symposium of Vancouver in 2001.
