Three Latin American Dances (8') 1997

The Three Latin American Dances were written initially as part of the final examination for the M.Mus degree in composition from the Royal Academy of Music, administered through the London University. The exam gave students one week to create a new work within specified parameters. The piano work takes as its basis three typical Latin American forms:
1) Tango
2) Cuban Habenera
3) Danzon
Several months later after moving to Inuvik, Northwest Territories the piece was orchestrated for concert band.
