Mixed Steps was written for the ARRAYMUSIC 2001 young composers workshop. In three movements. The first movement juxtaposes distinct shifts between freer atonal sections and jazz inspired bits. In the second movement the tune “Giant Steps’ is used as a cantus firmus. The third movement is lively.
